The laboratory owns a machine shop for the handling and treatment of bulky and heavy samples as well as experienced and trained personnel for the preparation of test specimens according to the standards.

Ageing and Corrosion testing
according to international specifications to a wide range of materials such as:
metals, weldings, coatings, paints, plastics, building materials, textiles, leather, etc.,
for certification of compliance, evaluation, comparison, life expectancy calculation.

- Salt spray test
- Corrosive environment application
- Artificial ageing by UV light and moisture
- Artificial ageing by temperature changes application
- Fluid and solid waste
The laboratory carries out metallurgical tests on samples of materiasl and weldings in order to:
- detect superficial or internal discontinuities,
- ascertain the microstructure and the grain size of the material and its welding,
- determine coating thickness,
- assess the thermal treatment they have been subjected to and
- determine eventually their compliance with the standards.
Methods used are: stereoscopy, optical microscopy (x1000) and electron microscopy (x150000), combined with hardness and chemical analysis.
Chemical analysis services include qualitative and quantitative methods.
Physical, wet chemistry and instrumental methods are used to determine material composition, elemental content and trace elements.
